The Bible speaks of grain, wine and oil in many places. For many years I wondered why!?

James 5:14-15:
“Are any of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to him; and they shall pray for him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.” It was common for the first Christians to use anointing oil for the sick. When the elders of the church visited the sick person, they anointed the sick person with the oil in the name of the Lord. “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick” clearly shows us that it is not superstition but something done in faith. And how do we get this belief? “Faith comes by hearing, but hearing comes through the word of God” (Romans 10:17).
